The National Map Download viewer provides an online mapping tool for downloading the NHDPlus HR, NHD and WBD as a shapefile or file geodatabase by Hydrologic Unit (HU), including 4-digit (HU4) or 8-digit (HU8), by state, or nationally.

The NHDPlus HR data includes a vector and raster component for each geographic area produced. NHDPlus HR vector data is available in file geodatabase (GDB) format, zipped (.zip) to reduce the file size. NHDPlus HR raster data files are available for download as zipped (.7z) files. All NHDPlus HR GDB downloads contain a copy of the NHD and WBD datasets used to produce it, plus additional data specific to the NHDPlus HR dataset.

The National Hydrography Dataset is available in shapefile and file geodatabase formats. All NHD downloads contain a copy of the corresponding WBD dataset that is current only to the date the NHD dataset was created. Also, an extract containing only streamgages and dams is available.

This nationwide cached overlay uses a variety of hydrography layers and depicts them in standard USGS Topographic Map symbology. It is updated and re-cached once yearly. It is useful for adding hydrography over other map layers down to 1:9,000 scale. It draws more quickly and is more reliable than the dynamic layers, but is updated less frequently and does not provide access to attributes nor the ability to change the style in other applications. This service is also available as a WMTS.

Downloads for ESIs that were generated using GIS (post-1993) include metadata in PDF format. Other metadata formats, as available, are included as a separate download. Additionally, for more recent atlases, links are provided to metadata in the NOAA metadata repository, InPort. Metadata for the post-2014 atlases is only available in InPort.

Use the form above to download these files. To automate or download multiple datasets, you can download a program called wget. Due to increased web security, the anonymous FTP server is no longer available.

The second download option "Legend File" will help you reproduce the color scheme we are using. If using ArcView, you will need to copy it into your c:\esri\av_gis30\arcview\legend_avl\ directory and load it manually through the legend editor. This file does not change from day to day.

NOTE -- Latitude and Longitude are not explicitly stated in the netCDF file. The second download option "HRAP-to-LatLon" contains source code for a C-program. The program contains a function that reprojects HRAP coordinates to Lat-Lon coordinates. The fully compiled program reads the netCDF files and writes ascii files with the following fields:

The 2010 Design Hydrology Manual has been superseded by the 2017 Manual. VCRat2.6 for 32-bit computers has been superseded by VCRat2.64 for 64-bit computers. The VCRat2.6 methods contained in VCRat2.64 have been accepted by FEMA as a Locally-Accepted Hydrology Model that can be used to provide hydrology for FEMA studies in Ventura County.

S3 functions implementing both statistical and graphical goodness-of-fit measures between observed and simulated values, mainly oriented to be used during the calibration, validation, and application of hydrological models. Missing values in observed and/or simulated values can be removed before computations. Comments / questions / collaboration of any kind are very welcomed.

Note: The book is out of print and Cambridge University Press has given the rights to the editors. You may download the book for non-commercial purposes for free. For commercial purposes permission needs to be obtained from Cambridge University Press and the editors.

>> Request to download statewide vector dataset(Shapefiles or File Geodatabase; includes MassGIS Dataviewer Toolbar files. Does not include Parcels, Address Points, 2016 Landuse/Landcover or 5K Contours)

The provided photos for download on this side can be used for publications with reference "HydroGroup" or "Hydro-Elektrik GmbH, Ravensburg" It would be a pleasure for us to get any feed back or a specimen copy.

These images show the mean monthly rainfall as isohyets, or lines of equal rainfall. Both sets of isohyets (inches and mm) were created at appropriate intervals for their units, and therefore are not direct conversions of each other, though they are derived from the same data. The labels are included where they can fit, which means that not all isohyets are labeled, especially in steep gradient areas. Please see the interactive map or download the GIS or Google Earth layers for more information on isohyets labels.

Raster files are available at 250m resolution (0.00225 x 0.00225 cell size) for each island and for the state. These are available in inches or millimeters, and can be downloaded in ESRI grid format or ASCII grid format. These are the main output of this project, with the isohyets and other products being produced from these grids.

The uncertainty grids are available at 250m resolution (0.00225 x 0.00225 cell size) for the state. These are available in inches or millimeters, and can be downloaded in ESRI grid format or ASCII grid format. These layers contain the combined standard error from all input sources to the final maps - see Methods for more information.

An "About" tab has been included with each of these files to further explain the contents. For details about the processing or gap filling, please read the final report, available for download below the tabular files.

From the month-year maps we have generated Statewide and Island average monthly time series. Each index is the average of all map pixels for that month-year. These are available for download in Microsoft Excel (*.xlsx) and CSV (*.csv) formats. Each file contains the average rainfall values in millimeters and inches.

Note that the overarching HydroATLAS database fully contains all sub-basin polygons of HydroBASINS, which have additionally been enhanced in HydroATLAS with a large number of hydro-environmental characteristics.

Users who require only a single level of HydroBASINS can use the following trees. To download a file, please navigate to the desired continent and level of data, and then click to download that file. Files are also available which contain layers for levels 1-6, as well as for level 0 (available for standard data only). Note that the files containing all levels (1-12) are the same files as available in the table above.

For Windows, download this zip-archive (zip 3.7 MB) , extract the archive somewhere on your computer (for example at the desktop). Double-click on the setup-file to install the software. No administrator rights are needed to install the softeare. It may be installed either on a stationary computer or as portable software on a USB memory stick. Size on disk: 7 MB.

ADDENDUM: Some of the downloadable files in this resource page were moved by FEMA from their previous location in the FEMA Natural Hazards Risk Assessment Program (NHRAP) server [ ] and elsewhere on [ ] during the summer of 2019.

This resource describes a dataset of gridded depth at horizontal resolution of 3 meters, published November 15, 2017, downloaded from FEMA [1] and now also hosted in an archive at the University of Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) [2]. The raster dataset is contained within an Esri ArcGIS geodatabase.

The USGS National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) Downloadable Data Collection from The National Map (TNM) is a comprehensive set of digital spatial data that encodes information about naturally occurring and constructed bodies of surface water (lakes, ponds, and reservoirs), paths through which water flows (canals, ditches, streams, and rivers), and related entities such as point features (springs, wells, stream gages, and dams). The information encoded about these features includes classification and other characteristics, delineation, geographic name, position and related measures, a "reach code" through which other information can be related to the NHD, and the direction of water flow. The network of reach codes delineating water and transported material flow allows users to trace movement in upstream and downstream directions. In addition to this geographic information, the dataset contains metadata that supports the exchange of future updates and improvements to the data. The NHD supports many applications, such as making maps, geocoding observations, flow modeling, data maintenance, and stewardship. For additional information on NHD, go to -science-systems/ngp/national-hydrography.

"The USGS manages surface water and hydrologic unit mapping for the Nation as geospatial datasets. These include the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD), Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD), and NHDPlus High Resolution (NHDPlus HR). Hydrography data are integral to a myriad of mission critical activities undertaken and managed by government entities (Federal, state, regional, county, local, Tribal), nonprofit organizations, and private companies. Hydrography data make it possible for these groups to, for example:
